Сигурно вече сте чували за Future Shorts.

Toва е новата и бързо развиваща се международена мрежа от ежемесечни филмови прожекции, както и DVD лейбъл.

В мрежата участват над 23 държави. Кина и клубове в Лондон, Одеса, Лисабон, Брюксел, Единбург, Осло, Москва, Киев, Будапеща, а отскоро и в София, предлагат всеки месец селекция от некомерсиални филми и анимации, преобръщащи радикално представите на публиката за света.

Мрежата на Future Shorts започва в Англия и се простира до Бразилия и Южна Корея. Тази мащабност дава възможност за уникална селекция от творби на международни автори, която не притежава никои друг фестивал в света. Програмата на Future Shorts е дързък опит да се обхване цялостно късометражното изкуство, включвайки филми на доказани творци като Mайк Ли, Спайк Джоунс, Крис Маркер, Мишел Гондри, Патриk Льоконт, студентски проекти и домашно експериментално видео.

Но освен прожекции, събитията под името Future Shorts са нещо много повече. Те имат за цел да въздействат на зрителя чрез прожектирането на късометржно кино в нестандартна обстановка и пространства. Участия на фестивали като Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Nokia Lab в Русия, London Film Festival и Rock n'Roll Cinema смесват прожекциите с музика и театър.

Марката Future Shorts е призната от кино индустрията и пресата като инновативно движение в сфeрата на некомерсиалното кино.

Future Shorts стартира в България на 20 септември 2007 година. Прожекции се проведоха на места като класически киносалони, малки барове, openair еко фестивали и drum'n'bass партита, достигайки до около 1600 зрителя от всякакви възрасти.

В рамките на Upgrade! София организаторите на Future Shorts България ще представят своята робота в София, разпростирането на мрежата до Варна, както и плановете си за прожекции в Пловдив и Велико Търново. Със снимки и видео материали ще се илюстрира развитието на мрежата от началото й до днес, след което ще бъдат дадени късометражни примери за уникалната селекция на Future Shorts.

Презентациите ще се проведат на български език. При нужда ще има превод на английски.

You have probably heard about Future Shorts – the world's largest short movie network.
It's the newest and rapidly expanding international monthly short film festival and a DVD label.

There are 23 countries in this network. Cinemas and clubs in London, Lisbon, Moscow, Oslo, Edinburgh, Budapest and, since few months, in Sofia too, offer every month a selection of non-commercial short movies and animation, turning the audience's perceptions and understanding of the world radically upside down.

The Future Shorts network started in London and expanded to Brasil and South Korea. This huge dimension gives the opportunity for a unique selection of works by international authors. The Future Shorts programme is a bold try to capture the whole short film art form, including movies by well known authors such as Mike Lee, Spike Jones, Chris Marker, Michel Gondry amongst students' projects and home made experiments.

But the events of the brand Future Shorts are much more than screenings. Their aim is to effect the audience with screening short movies in a unusual context and in unexpected spaces. Participation at festivals like Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Nokia Lab in Rusia, London Film Festival and Rock n'Roll Festival are turning the screenings into a mixture between visual, sound and performing arts.

As a label Future Shorts is recognized by the flimmaker's industry and the press as the cutting edge brand for non-commercial movies.

In Bulgaria Future Shorts started on the 20th of September 2007. Screenings were held at classical cinema halls, as well as at small bars and open air drum and bass parties, reaching about 1600 people from all ages.

In the framework of Upgrade! Sofia the organizers of Future Shorts Bulgaria will present their work and show documentary materials from the newly opened screenings in Varna. Plans to make screenings in other cities in Bulgaria like Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo are also part of the network's expansion. The presentation will be followed by a screening which will illustrate the unique archive of Future Shorts.
